CANCELLED: 5th Annual Rising Stars Luncheon

To our friends and partners,

In an effort to promote the health and safety of our community, After-School All-Stars (ASAS) North Texas will be canceling our 5th Annual Rising Stars Luncheon with special guest speaker, Dirk Nowitzki. The luncheon was intended to take place on May 5th, 2020 at the Brook Hollow Gold Club.  It is with a heavy heart that we share this news, as this event is intended to unite our community as we acknowledge our successes and prepare for our future of empowering our All-Stars.

Our main priority has been, and always will be, keeping our All-Stars safe and providing them with the tools to help them succeed in school and life. With the families that we serve now facing new financial challenges and all of Dallas ISD being required to rapidly make the transition to distance learning for over 150,000 students, the safety and success of our All-Stars must be addressed with an unprecedented urgency. Now more than ever, ASAS must be innovative and efficient in our methods of providing support to our community.

With the cancellation of our luncheon, ASAS is experiencing a financial hardship. This loss, coupled with the financial challenges being faced by many of our funders, has placed a massive strain on our fundraising efforts and has required us to seek out alternative methods of acquiring support for our All-Stars. In an effort to counter the impact of COVID-19, ASAS will be launching a relief campaign aimed at recouping the losses from our Rising Stars Luncheon and addressing any unforeseen hurdles introduced in the coming months.

If you would like to contribute electronically, please click the button below. You may also donate by mailing a check directly to 2902 Swiss Avenue, Dallas TX. 75219. We would like to extend our appreciation to those that have already contributed by donating funds toward the 5th Annual Rising Stars Luncheon. If you were considering purchasing a table, or have the means to donate, ASAS needs your support to continue our dedication to over 800 high-needs students in Dallas County. We hope that you choose to partner with us during this difficult time so that we may reach those students who need us most and continue our mission for years to come.

Best,
